Notes from Cyndi
Ever have one of those "duh" moments ? I did, and now I am kicking myself for not thinking of this idea before. As per my usual routine each morning I get up, take my HP pill with a glass of orange juice and then sit at my desk and check my email, bloglines and a couple of scrapbook sites. Anyway this morning I started out by cleaning up my space ( I have a lot of projects to work on and I wanted a "clean" space to begin with ). So I'm checking out Donna's blog and start reading about the madness going on over there....can I say........Lighten up people ! My goodness this is a hobby that should be enjoyed by all types : women, men, children, black, white, young, old, tall, short ( and the list goes on ) and frankly the fact that Donna had a human reaction to a situation and then was able to laugh about it and move on says a lot about her character. But I digress. Anyway, I just happened to check out Tiffany's blog and got excited when I saw some of the stuff she had posted for the Memory Trends event. Makes me want to cover a candle in some scrapbook paper ( can you guess which one ? ). So I scroll down a bit and see this great project and then she explains where she got the paper from, I follow the link and it takes me to a digi kit. So dummy that I am , I think I made a mistake and go back to her site and try again. Of course it takes me a "minute" ( sounds like something Quisha would say ) to realize that she used a digital kit and printed it out to be used on an actual paper project. Now how cool is that ? Now granted some of you may have figured this out a while ago ( but I've never admitted to being the brightest crayon in the box, so for me this was an eye-opener). I see lots of great digi kits all the time and because I'm not the brightest tack when it comes to a computer and the programs I have shied away from them. Plus I like something tangible in my hand ( no disrespect to my digital friends because there is this girl on the disneyboards named Cass that rocks some digital layouts ). That's what I love about this art we call scrapbooking. It comes in so many forms, and you can create what works for you in the way that it works for you and no one ( and I mean no one ) should have the right to judge it or criticize it or put it down . We should be embracing each other's ideas and differences and sharing our dreams and techniques and goals. Just think how much better the world would be if we stopped putting each other down and stopped to pick one another up.
