I'm Still Standing



VBS is half way through (yeah). Its been hectic, crazy, frustrating and one of the most fulfilling weeks of my life ( I have literally crashed each night, sleeping uninterrupted through two storms....LOL). I have had at least three children who have passed me in the hall who stopped me just to give me a hug. Any doubts I had about being called to Children's Ministry has gone out of the door. Setting down my scrap goals to do ministry has been been the best decision I ever made. I'm having fun, enjoying life and looking forward to what else God has in store for me and my family.

The Planning Continues



Found the buckets for the ice and bottled water. Now I just need to find some cute salad bowls (lol)! The official invitations go out this week ( we sent the save the date cards out a while ago ). My wonderful husband found exactly what I was looking for ( can't wait to print them out ) after I spent a frustrating day looking for just the right stationary. The man kills me how he can just walk in a store and find what you are looking for ( and usually on sale ).

Vanessa's Give-Away



Just sharing a little blog love with my readers (lol....as if I had it like that). My friend Vanessa has a giveaway going on over at her blog. Also over at LIITD, they are having an on-line "Members Crop" on June 20th and June 21st. Last year I was able to participate, but because I have been having a dry spell I missed out this year. I love the on-line crops over at LIITD, they not only give away some great stuff but the ladies over there offer some inspiring projects. Anytime I participate in one of their crops I get lots done, and I have the convenience of working in my own space with all of my favorite products and tools (without having to pack and unpack). They also have special challenges and you get to hang out with a great group of women. So go on over and share in the love! Oh, while you are there check out Vanessa's work. Anniversary Plans




Since we are having the big celebration in July we don't have anything special planned for today, but I had to post my "gift". Its nothing to get excited about unless you are me (lol). A few weeks ago while at an appreciation dinner these beverage dispensers caught me eye. I became obsessed with finding them. And I did on-line at Ebay and Amazon. The problem was that they were nearly $40.00 each (plus $15.00 shipping). There was no way I could afford two (let alone three which is what I really want). I knew I would use them for a long time to come, but I had been told I could get them at Sam's for $19.00 a piece! I put out an SOS (with pictures) to a couple of girlfriends who are helping me plan the anniversary, and this morning my friend Teresa called me and told me that she was standing in front of them in our local Sam's. Marc was out of the area on a job, but I told him I had to go and grab them this afternoon when he got home. My sweet husband came home this evening with two of them under his arm. What is not to love about this man? And I plan to hug Teresa when I see her (she is one of those friends who is there through thick and thin). Like I said it may not be exciting to anyone but me, but I have been dreaming about those dispensers and all of the events in the future I could use them at. Sad, but true. I just think party planning is in my blood and there is just no way to escape it. The blue and white bowls below are for the potato salad and the bread which will be served at the party along with the chicken and ribs. The flowered bowls and ice cream scoops are for salad dressing. Now I just need to find silver wash buckets (to hold ice and bottled water) and clear bowls for my green salad. I also need to pick up a bag of sand to fill 18 glass vase with! I have so many ideas swirling around in my head I can't think straight. Will have to put the party plans on the back burner for a while. VBS is two weeks away!

25 Years and Counting!



25 years ago today I married my bestfriend. In a few weeks we will celebrate with family and friends. I am so excited I can't stand myself (lol). Happy Anniversary honey.

Hair Today



Most of Nicki's cyber aunts check in here, so I am posting her new hairdo for you all to see. We have been on a haircutting frenzy around here. Must be the summer heat (lol).
