Where has the time gone???

I cannot believe the wedding is next Saturday!! I feel like I've got a million and one things to do!!

Last Friday we got to meet the photographer Clara Anne. I'm pretty sure Clara was not ready for our wild and crazy group but it didn't take her long to adapt which made me feel good because I'm pretty sure we will be unlike any family she has ever worked with! lol

Not in a bad way mind you, just very different lol.

First of all it's been raining cats and dogs, and it was no different Friday when Nicki did her Bridal Photo Shoot!

When we left for the wedding site it was pouring down rain and we knew then it would not be any outdoor shoot. Which we were ok with. The home where the wedding is taking place has a Victorian feel to it which was exactly what Nicki wanted so it worked out perfectly (of course I can't show you pictures from that day but I can insert a few from previous visits) .

But what we weren't prepared for was the flooding!! Nicki had actually left ahead of me because I was riding with my girlfriend Teresa in her van so that we could drop off a ton of flowers and other decorations at my cousins home.

Traffic was backed up and Nicki had already got word via Clara (that in itself made me like this girl) that it was going to delay us all in getting to the center.

Nicki called me in a panic because neither her or the photographer could get to the site because the road was flooded over from all the rain!

I told her to call my mom because I knew there was another way in on higher ground, and "Mimi" would know it! At first neither of us could get her or my cousin on the phone and I kept worrying my already stressed out daughter would fall apart.
We finally got a hold of mom, and Teresa and I met her (got in the car with her), and went off to rescue the bride and the photographer!
I should not be surprised that it would be an adventure when it comes to Nicki, but I really need for God to work it out next weekend!
We finally made it to the house. Got Nicki in her dress and thankfully Clara got some great shots even with the cloudy skies. We didn't get to take any pictures on the property itself but at one point the rain let up long enough for us to do a few shots on the front porch!!

We had one small mishap which I'm glad happened during the photo shoot and not the day of the wedding! At one point Nicki broke her shoe strap. Thankfully my mom found someone to repair it and it is good to go!! She even got a picture of him working on it for my scrapbook!!

This weekend my oldest daughter graduates and then next weekend we finally get to bask in all of the hard work and planning we have done over the last year. I'm not sure I'm ready and although we have had a lot of ups and downs along the way, if you asked me now if I would still take on the job of planning my daughters wedding the answer would still be yes!!

Nothing will give me greater pleasure then seeing her smiling face when she walks down the aisle. And knowing that she and Byron trusted me enough to plan such an important day makes me a very happy mama!
