The mantle was super simple! I just added some fake poinsettia along with some real pine cones and pine needles! A touch of gold leaves from a garland from Michaels and I was done!
Marc gave me the cutest set of candles from SAMs Club last spring and I've used them a few times in decorating. I just covered the burlap ribbon with some festive Christmas ribbon and changed the whole look! I placed it inside a wreath and ordained that with the same gold garland, pine cones and pine needles as I did with the mantle.
Since the candle set came in a set of three it allowed me to create little spaces throughout the Familyroom.
The Diningroom was a bit more fanciful with sparkles of gold and silver with a hint of red. I used my same silver linen from last year along with the lantern. I changed out the ribbon and added touches of white and gold here and there.
My newest purchase was polka dot placemats in gold and silver.
I accented with my gold chargers and glass coasters from the Dollar Tree. The white poinsettia and gold branches are also from the Dollar Store!
As well as the gold rim glasses ( with the exception of the larger two that I placed at the head of the table. We brought those in Germany yrs ago as a gift to my grandmother who then gave them back to me when she moved into a nursing home. She's no longer with us but every time I look at those glasses I see her.
Although my decor this year was simple it still had a great impact which just goes to show that sometimes it really is better to KISS! lol
