It's Coming Along

Now granted its not there yet. And its certainly not decorated they way I imagine it should be. But most of the stuff has been moved to the room and a few pictures are up. Wish I could paint the walls. Maybe before the summer is over , but right now there is no time. I have so much outside of scrapping to do in the next few months. I will be glad when its completed though. I have had three different people ask me about doing albums and classes, so I really need to get my self organized and fast. The good thing about the new space is that it is huge! Marc and I were both surprised at how much room I have now that the room has been cleared. I am thinking every room in my house needs to be empted at least once and then only the really important treasures will go back in (lol). Granted that may take me years to accompolish, but it may be worth the struggle. Now the diningroom looks like a tornado hit it. The plan is to get the new stuff up in the masterbedroom and then purge the diningroom. Not sure I will get it all done within the next week so I have decided to not stress and just take my time. My motto for the week is ....I'm too blessed to be stressed !

The Scraproom in Various Phases.

My space now.

The Livingroom before and the diningroom when it was my scraproom.

Well the transformation has begun.

I posted a while back that I plan to turn my livingroom into my scraproom ( right now a part of my diningroom is my scrapspace). So this morning I started taking down pictures and wrapping up my Lladro figurines and porcelain dolls. A lot of the items will go into our masterbedroom which is also being made over. But a lot of my disney stuff will have to go in storage, not to mention my livingroom sofa's ( which I have promised to Quisha for her first apartment ). I really need to be done by next weekend because of Marc's ordination service so I don't have time to think about the emotional aspect of this. Its always been my dream to have a livingroom, but the diningroom gets used more so its more logical to keep it. The good thing is that when Quisha does finally get her own place I can convert her room into my permanent scraproom and turn my formal livingroom back into a livingroom. Not to mention the fact that this will require new furniture. So its a win, win situation.

And They Said It Couldn't Be Done !

I'm not sure if this will be the final system, but boy it is soo much better then the first system (lol). Thank you to all who sent suggestions. I finally decided on an in and out box for the mail, and then its filed away in page protectors at the end of the month in the cropper hopper accordian files ( had to get scrapping supplies in there somehow ). At the end of the year they will go in a large binder and stored away in boxes. I now try to make a habit of throwing out junk mail when it first comes in the house, all other documents with sensitive stuff on it are shredded ( now that I can actually get to the shredder ). One project down 1,000 more to go !

Tuesday Scrap Bread:

Yesterday was a rough day , so I didn't get to my picture of the day until now, but even in the midst of chaos and confusion I found a way to acknowledge the day and make it memorable. My Scrap Bread for today is : Sometimes flowers bloom among weeds. Life is that way also. Maybe if we learn to "flourish" among the "weeds" of life we might actually "grow".

So what does a girl do when she's having a bad day ? She goes window shopping ! Of course the lesson learned should probably be to not go into JC Penney's . Why ? In part because I am a hat freak. I love hats and purse ( and I happen to look good in them ). So each year when JCPenneys marks their hats down I go a little crazy. So of course I couldn't resist this little white cowboy hat ! It helped a lot that it was only $8.99. The bad part is that now I want to go back and get it in pink and aqua. But the everyday moment is not about spending money on a new hat, but it's actually about spending time with my girls. One of the things we do really good is spending time together at the mall. We hit all of our favorite stores, tried on clothes ( well actually Nicki did ). We browsed Victoria Secrets and stopped to smell the fragrances at Bath and Body Works. My blessing for the day : even though my girls are adults they still love hanging out with old mom. So now each time I wear this hat I won't dwell on all that went bad that day, but what went right.

COURAGE : Moving forward despite your circumstances .

Daily Blessings

My daily routine is pretty simple ( I scrap, check the internet, spend time with my girls, handle daily chores, fellowship with friends and family and support my husband in ministry ). I'm blessed to be able to work my passion for scrapping each and everyday ( whether its scrapping a page, altering a dollar spot find, or sharing with others on-line ). I have been thinking about an article I read in CK by Ali Edwards about our daily life and how we tend to scrap the events in our life and not the daily living. This reminded me of the daily devotions we are sometimes given out at church ( daily bread ). What if we had a daily bread for scrapping ? How many small things happen in our life each day that are memorable but get lost in the shuffle of day to day living ? My goal for the week is to try and capture the day by day memories and document them here on my blog. Hopefully it will inspire someone to stop, smell the coffee ( or tea in my case ) and highlight the everyday memories. You never know what you may learn just by living your life ( with meaning ) daily. Afterall how many times have we been told that life is to short to waste it ? What if we have been so focused on the big events in life, that we missed the daily blessing ?

National Scrapbook Day Layouts

I had a very productive day on saturday during NSD. And to top it off I got up this morning to check in at Love is in the Details and found out I won one of the prizes ! But the best part of that was that I won one of Vanessa's kits ! How cool is that ? I was able to complete 7 of the challenges ( including 4 layouts for my May Disney Album ). If I get the chance I will try to do at least two more of the challenges . Thank You to all of the great designers at Love Is In the Details. It was an awesome on-line crop.

I Talked to Rhonna Farrer on-line !!!!!

Ok, it may sound crazy. But talking to Rhonna today helped so much. Yesterday was not a good day at all ! And even though I was excited about NSD , I was not as excited as I had been earlier during the week. I did stick to my plan and cleaned house last night so I would not have any distractions today. The girls are at work, Marc is out and TJ just got in from work so he is down for the count (lol ). Love is in the Details on-line crop had not started yet so I went to check out lifetimemoments and who was on-line Rhonna ( Queen of the 21 day challenge ) , and one the main reason I started this blog site. It was way after the time the chat had begun but I decided to say thanks for all of the inspiration.

Our conversation ( mind you she talked to lots of other ladies ) went like this :

Hi Rhonna, I have been enjoying your 21 day challenge. Its really helped me expand my scrapping outlook. And I can't wait until I can try out some digi layouts. Will be picking up some of those awesome stamps also. I started a new blog just for my scrapping stuff because of your 21 day challenge. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

Cyndi ( disneyscrapper )

Cindy, that is so awesome! The {21} Challenge has been life altering for me & so many others... such a wonderful thing..

Ok, what one tip would you suggest to all scrappers ?
Cyndi

Cyndi...just ONE tip?

ok... to go with your heart. throw away all rules, questions & just create from your heart. Those are the pages you will remember. Those are the pages that will touch your family's hearts. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing. Dont' think about 'what's in'. Don't think about the rules, just be free. Now, for some that might be too hard... but, I've been doing some fabulous 'creative exercises' that have really helped me! I introduced one on my blog a bit ago & I'll be doing more 'exercises' on my blog, too!

Thank you. that's what I have liked about your challenges. Its freed me in so many ways. I am loving my work, and have really felt like this is my passion.

Cyndi

Cindy, good for you! *that's * what I mean when I say ENJOY THE PROCESS! *the process* is totally different for everyone & the trick is to find how *you* enjoy *your* process! yea for you!

That's the other thing I am learning. I need to create what works for me, not say what may work for others. I'm learning to be true to "me" and its reflecting in my life and my pages. My mom says it's a turning 4o something thing (lol).

Cyndi

exaclty, Cyndi (sorry I mispelled your name!) You hit it on the nose!

Rhonna may never know how much those words meant to me, but it was the perfect way to start the day !!!!! Thanks again Rhonna. Ok, now I am off to do some serious scrapping.
Happy National Scrapbook Day

I will be busy today scrapping on-line with my buddy Vanessa and lots of new friends. Come by and visit :

Strength Day 8 : Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us....Marianne Williamson.

This is soo true. I know God has called me for a higher purpose then to just sit on my butt and vegetate. But, something allways holds me back. Its as if I see the possibilities and because they might actually happen , I pull back out of fear. This year I am asking God to help me overcome my fears and to move me forward in his true purpose for my life. I owe him. Now its time to shut up, and give in to the process !

Strength : having the courage to endure.
Altered Target Items

Just to prove....that I have been creating, creating, creating. I am posting pictures of my latest projects ( if blogger will let me ). Including the picture frames from Target a few weeks ago. I love them ! I used dcwv paper, rub-ons and kept the flowers that came in the frames. Can't wait to put them up in the new scrapspace ( which I have figured out how to set up, just need to decide on a paint color ). I also have been using my scrap journal that a friend gave me last year. I am really starting to get into the "habit" of putting my notes, sketches and wish list for the week in my journal. Its helping me keep lots of future ideas in one place and keeps me focused on my goals for the week. I started working on my tins from the Target dollar spot. Added ribbon and rub-ons with spring, summer, winter and fall on the medal stakes....just not sure what I will store in them. The palm trees are hooks also from the dollar spot....love that pink and blue together ( much better then the ugly green )!

Ok, until blogger starts letting me load pictures again you can see my pictures at twopeas :

Habit Day 5 : Cultivate only the Habits that you are willing should master you .... E. Hubbard

Ok, that's deep ! May need to sit with that one a while. What habits ( good habits mind you ) do I consider worthy enough to make a part of my daily life. Why waste a day doing meaningless stuff when God has given me a day filled with opportunity .
Habit Day 4 : How shall I a habit break ? As you did that habit make. As you gathered, you must lose; As you yielded, now refuse. Thread by thread, the strands we twist, Till they bind us neck and wrist. Thread by thread, the patient hand, Must untwine ere free we stand .... John B. O'Reilly.

Need I say more ? Just do it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! What can you lose ? If at first you don't succeed try, try again. I can't recall how many times I told my children to do this. Why did I find it so hard to do the same thing ? No more excuses. My motto this year is to just do it. No looking back ! Create, Create, Create.
Habit Day 3 : Never permit failure to become a habit ....William Frederick

Man, its easy to get defeated when you take your eyes off of the goal. If you look back to a few days ago, I had made a commitment to keep up with my journaling ( no matter what ). A few days of stress with my computer, and a high reading on my bp and I forgot where I was going ( literally ). How often do we let the devil get in the way ? Well, I am determined to break old patterns and to keep moving forward. God gave me a vision and if I stay my course I know I can make it happen. I just have to believe in myself.
Habit Day 2 : people with clear written goals, accompolish far more in a shorter amount of time than people without them could ever imagine......Brian Tracy

I did this without even knowing I was following Rhonna's quote for the day ! I have been writing my goals down in my journal. And I'm still trying to make a habit of creating something each day. Right now I am working on the plans for my scrap studio and I have been altering items to decorate this room with. I even have a list of things I would like to incorporate into my scrap ministry. There, I said it. I am being led to share my passion for scrapping with others in the form of ministry at women's workshops and conferences. Its still in my head-the planning stages, but I know this is what I am suppose to be doing. Now I am saying it "out loud " !

Scrap Studio

Ok, after years of scrapping in my diningroom, I am biting the bullet and turning my livingroom into a scraproom. At least until one of the kids move out (lol). I had hoped to turn Quisha's room into my scrapspace, but when she graduates next year from college she is going straight into a masters program ( so she will be here for at least two more years ). I had promised her my livingroom set when she moved out, so now its going into storage and the space will become a room just for scrapping. I have all of the furniture for my room and the decorations ( can you tell I have been planning this a while ? ) I'm excited but a little sad because I always wanted a formal livingroom and got one when we built our home. The good thing is that when she does move I can take over her room and turn my livingroom back to a livingroom. Plus, I will get to get new furniture ! I will try to post pictures as the transformation takes place ( it will be in a few weeks ). My colors will be pink, aqua and sage.

HABIT Day 1 : to do something consistently . ... Not always a bad thing !

Ok, Round 3 of The {21} Challenge with Rhonna Farrer has begun. This time around I plan to focus more on what the word means to me, rather then just expressing it through an art journal. ( Hopefully this will allow me to keep up even when the computer wants to be difficult ). When I can I will post what the word of the day means to me. I'm on a new path and my mind is on creating for me, and somehow expressing my faith through my work. So some days I may be working on a page, and other days I may be in the mood to alter an object or create a mini album. Who knows where this journey will take me. Hope you stick around to see where the path leads...ME.

Random Thoughts....Saw this on the Croppers Cottage website :

So tell me, did you do any scrap shopping this weekend? What did you buy? What do you want to do with it?

Yep, brought a new Xyron pcs font book ( Vacation and Travel ) and a DCWV paper stack ( Retro I believe ). Plan to cover some coasters with the paper.

If you didn't shop, what's on your wish list?

I still have a wish list: I want some Heidi Swapp stuff and some QK shapes ( the photo corners ).

Also, tell me what your HOT color is right now, what color do you find yourself reaching for the most lately?

Aqua, and for some reason orange has been popping up !

OK...that's all I have today...What are your design goals for the Day/Week?

To complete some of the altered items I have on my table !
Passion equals Purpose equals Opportunity !!!!!! Its as if a lightbulb came on today. Lord, I think I got it .
