Magic Kingdom Part 2

Posted here by mistake and don't have the energy to transfer it...LOL. You can catch my Disney trip updates here if your interested.

After visting with Princess Cinderella and all of her friends we headed to tomorrowland to get a fastpass for Buzz Lightyear and immedietely hit the People Mover. I don't understand fully why I love this ride so much but I do. I think in part its because its one of the original WDW rides and when I get on it I think of Walt Disney and all of the dreams he invisioned for this park!

For the first time ever we actually got stopped on the ride for a few minutes, but soon we were off again!

Next up the Carousel of Progress, another Disney classic in my eyes. I didn't know it had been updated a bit, so it made for a great surprise!

By the time we got out of the Carousel of Progress it was time for Buzz LightYear. Now I have to say I'm not a game person at all but even I like to pretend that I can get a high score! For the first time ever I rode with Marc and I let him take the lead while I snapped photos. LOL

If you look real close you can see the camera in my hand. LOL

We had done everything we wanted to do in Frontierland and Tommorrowland and since we had dinner reservations that evening at Ohana's I was ok with taking it easy the rest of the afternoon. Secretly I hoped to hit the park after dinner anyway. So we headed out of Main Street midafternoon just as the crowds seemed to be picking up.  Our goal...to finally track down my friend Kelli who we had been trying to surprise for two days!

Disney

We got back from Disney a few weeks ago. Immediately after that Nicki and I left for DC for the WOF Conference where we got stuck during Hurricane Irene. I'm just now starting to get back into the swing of things. I did really good on this trip and did not go overboard at the outlets especially with all of the cute Disney scrapbook stuff I saw. I've been thinking about just doing a photo album or photo book this time around so I didn't want to stock up on things I wouldn't need or use. But....I couldn't resist adding a few things to my collection for future trips down the road. This weekend I also picked up the smaller scalloped punch to use with the one I purchased a while ago. I only have a few more shapes on my list to use at parties but that will have to wait until the next time I get another 50% off coupon!

If your a Disney addict like me then you might be interested in my trip report which can be found on my Disney and Traveling blog!

DISNEY!!!!

Marc, the girls and I just spent a week in Orlando, including four days in the park, lots of shopping at the outlets, time with extended family and friends, and a Teen Pageant thrown in for good measure! I will be posting a trip report on my Disney/Traveling blog next week. I would start now but Nicki and I leave for Washington DC in a few days to attend the Women of Faith Conference. So the next two days will be spent unpacking, repacking, running errands, and cleaning house! See you in a few. I will include an update on a few "treasures" I picked up including a few scrapbook supplies!

Disney Phone Case

I brought a $5.00 phone case for my new Blackberry Storm and decorated it with EK Success stickers (I've had them forever) and sealed the whole thing with Mod Podge! It was great using my scrapbook and craft skills again!

It turned out really cute if I do say so myself! Way cuter then the $15.00 ones I saw on eBay! LOL

Party Tools!

Have you looked in your paper from Sunday? I had two Michaels flyers and one from AC Moore! I have been wanting the scallop punches from EK Success for a while but was unwilling to spend $25.00 to get it (or $14.99 for the smaller one). SO Sunday when I got home and realized I had a 3 50 % off coupons I hightailed it over to the store to pick it up. I believe their is another 50% off later in the week for AC Moore so I will head back then to get the 2 inch scallop. I stll have the Michaels one because they didn't have the punch I was looking for, but I did pick up these cute items!

By now you may be asking why I want them since I have not scrapped in forever. Well I have gone party planning crazy and I love all of the blogs out there. So this little puppy will be used to create cute stuff like this and this!

Legend Luncheon

I love decorating for events. We held a Legends luncheon for the women of our church on Saturday. I had these beautiful lanterns from party city on the ceiling but they fell down. I'm kicking myself now for not taking a picture of them beforehand, next time I will use more heavy duty tape. The centerpieces were made entirely from the dollar store. There are butterflies in each centerpieces that I got from Michael's Crafts (a few of them fell apart as soon as you took them out of the box, but they are soo cute I would use them again. The vases are wrapped in scrapbook paper from Making Memories. I picked up a package of them from Ollie's. I don't know if you have a Ollie's in your town but that store has been a great resource for me. Even the thank you boxes came from there. And they were 50 for $5.00! It came with the ribbon, thank you stickers and everything! All of my food servers came from Sam's Club. When I see a serving set I pick it up with the intention of using for future events. Right now I'm on the look out for a chocolate fountain after the being inspired to get one like the one used during our Pastor Wives retreat in Nashville!

Birthday Party Details

I had a great birthday (even with the uninvited guest in the form of a  .....tornado). So I thought I would share some pics of the food. You can see some of the other decorations I used here and a full view of the party here.

Sunday Best

OK, so here is our first attempt at Sunday Best. I hated my front view...lol. The suit came from JC Penney's years ago. The shoes are from Payless (again from years ago....lol and the purse was from Walmart). I wish I could say I did my shopping at the expensive retail shops, but I don't and rarely if ever do I pay full price. I have pants to go with the suit, which I wear way more then the skirt (go figure). Nicki loves Forever21 (shoes, and earrings), and the top is from Rue21. This week she had Senegalese twist put in. As much as I would like to have them done (would love to not have to think about maintaining my hairstyle for three months) after her experience I'm thinking I will pass. The girl had to come home and take Excedrin!

My newest obsession! Back in January I started posting my Sunday attire on twitter. Not for any particular reason, just for the fun of it. I have been a lover of fashion since High School. At one point I wanted to to design clothing, and even went to school after graduation to study Fashion Merchandising. At one point my dream was to work for Marcy's in New York as a buyer! Instead I became a mom and the only people I was buying clothing for was my three adorable rugrats! In a lot of ways I'm still doing that. Nicki and I spend a lot of time shopping together, and my husband it turns out is even more of a fashion guru then I am! No seriously the man has way more shoes and clothing then I will ever own (which may explain why Quisha tends to ask him for advice more so then me...lol)! Anyway long story short this week I have been scouring the internet looking at Fashion Blogs. And the one thing I have noticed is that most of the blogggers young, very beautiful and slim as all get up. I on the other hand wear a size 14 and in a few weeks I will turn 47! Sooo I tweeted..... where are all of the blogs for the slightly curvy women over 40? My friend tweeted back I should start my own. HAHA, as if I don't have enough irons in the fire (decorating, event planning, disney trip planning oh and ministry). But the more I thought about it the more I like the idea (at least maybe as a "Sunday Best" feature on my blog). Hoping I can get my girls in on it also, but we will see. And as usual this is just for fun and I don't claim to be an expert at anything, but since its my blog....well we'll just see how long I last and if anyone else notices besides a few friends and family members! LOL

Its Been Way to Long!!!!

Wow, its been way to long! Life has been so crazy that I just have not had the time for much else besides church, ministry, and family. But I am hoping this year will not be as crazy as last year and that I will get a chance to be more creative. Right now my scraproom looks like a place to store stuff so I really need to get in there and clear out all of the stuff that I don't want or need. Hoping to update it and make it not only a place for crafts, but my office space so stay tuned. I plan to make an appearance here more often. If you want to know what I have been up to you can check out my personal blog which I have managed to keep updated.   http://cyndiakadisneyqueen.blogspot.com/

The Mantle Decor

Just a few of the things I have been adding to my fall decor. Next week I should have the dining room done and then the kitchen. We have been busy doing some remodeling in the familyroom, which was interrupted yesterday when our 24 year old waterbed starting leaking, so that got a makeover of sorts. A new mattress! It's as if our house is saying redo me now or else! LOL

Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Fall!

Its no secret that I'm not big on summertime weather. So at the first sign of fall (like cooler weather) I started decorating for the season. I started collecting things to decorate my home last year. So this year I'm expanding to the outside. Who knew I would have as much fun decorating in the fall as I do at Christmas (and Valentines Day). Now I just need to figure out how to store all of this stuff! LOL

Its a Scrap!

I did it! I actually scrapped for the first time in a very long time. I completed two mini albums. This is the first album which is filled with "My Hero's"! The other one is a mini book I recieved as a gift a long time ago when I attended the Scrap Etc Weekend in Birmingham, AL back in 2007. I'm going to fill it with pics of my Valentine and our Valentine Weekend pics from last years Sweatheart Banquet (so I will post pictures once I add the photos to the album)!

I had a great time hanging out with my disneyscrappaddict girlfriends this weekend. It was good to just laugh, scrap, eat and have fun with a group of friends who get you! And it didn't matter that I was sick, and a bit cranky from a week without sleep.

Cruising through Life!

I just got back from a 5 day cruise aboard the Carnival Glory. Had the time of my life, did some things I have not done in forever (like dance) and tried out some things I never thought I would. I will be heading to DC in a few weeks to meet up with some special friends to scrapbook and then back to DC at the end of the month for a conference. In between that I will be spending a week with my mom getting her set up in her new house ( I can't wait to share pics of that). I went from hardly any traveling over the last few yrs to a flurry of travel this month (I will be unpacking my bags from the cruise just to pack them all over again for the DC trip).

I'm going to try my best to scrapbook something with all of those goodies I have been picking up from the stores the last few months! It will be nice to actually post some scrap pages on this old blog! Its been way too long.

4Th of July

We took it easy for the 4Th of July. Honeslty, look at that sky? What would you have done? LOL About the most I did this weekend was put up a flag! My tablescape needs a few more things. Maybe some red or navy bandannas as napkins. I have some white handled flatware and blue mugs, but I didn't pull them out. May have to make a trip back to Walmart for a couple more plates and bowls though. I hate purchasing something then kicking myself later for not getting all that I wanted in the beginning.

Heidi Luv!

Who can resist a little Heidi Swapp? I picked this up at Tuesday Morning last month. I think I paid like $10.00 for the entire kit and kaboodle! I resisted the urge to go back and get the other two kits, but now I'm kicking myself for not giving in. LOL

The kit included the heart mask, ghost alphabets, ghost shapes(flowers), florals in various colors, black chipboard letters, runway mask, clock overlay, foamboard alphabets in pink, and my favorite...clear extra's! See why I'm kicking myself? LOL
Scrappy Goodness!

It's been a minute since I posted. Ministry keeps us fairly busy. But I did want to share a few things I have picked up in the last few months (all in anticipation of my mini scrap weekend with some great gals in August). I'm hoping to make a few mini albums to highlight some of the trips I will be taking this summer. Including a cruise to Canada!

Most of the items came from Tuesday Morning (which I have been trying to stay out of because every time I go I find something else). I even picked up a Heidi Swapp kit, which I will share in another post.

If you like my table decorating then stay close by because I plan to do a 4th of July tablescape in a few weeks!

Summer Loving

I'm determined this summer to do some entertaining in our back yard. Recently I celebrated my birthday and thanks to my son I was able to pick up these lovely dishes from Walmart. The best thing is that almost everthing on this table was either $1.50 to $4.00 a set. I have a few more peices to pick up, but all and all I'm pretty happy with my choices.
