Showers of Love!

I don't even know where to begin!! Saturday was everything (and more) that I thought or imagined it could be!

From all the beautiful women who braved the rain , sleet and snow!!

To everyone who showered her with love in form of gifts! 

Her fabulous bridesmaids who worked so hard to make her day special! 

Her godmother who made three pound cakes from scratch ! 

Her godfather who cooked all of the hot food! 

Even the bride got in on it by using her fabulous calligraphy skills! She gave each guest a mason jar with a handwritten name tag on it as a thank you gift for coming! 

As much as I loved creating the vision for the shower, my favorite part (yes, more so then the decorations ) was the definitely the group photo session!!

Wedding Tip of the Day!!

One of the best tips for brides (or anyone planning an event), is to number the back of your RSVP envelopes and assign a number to your guest. If they don't give their name you at least know where the card came from. It's also a lot simpler then writing everyone address out a second time! And to guest...send in your RSVP!! It takes the stress off the bride and groom (and their family)! 

Preparation is everything!!

After nearly a year of planning we are now only 4 days away from Nicki's bridal shower!! Like really?? It seemed like only yesterday that her godmother and I started talking about it and now the invites have been sent out for the wedding and RSVP's have already started coming in! 

We also got confirmation yesterday that everything is set for her special bridal portrait with the wedding photographer. I have the crazy feeling that this one is going to hit me like a brick!! For the first time ever I will get to see her in her dress, made up, with the veil and flowers!! Y'all pray I don't fall apart!! Nicki would probably kill me!! lol 

You won't get to see those pics until after the wedding but I promise to have loads of photos of the shower this weekend!! 

I could sit and dream all day about the upcoming weeks but there are 11 white tablecloths waiting for me to iron by Saturday!! I will have to catch you guys on the flip side!!! 

Made with Love

This past weekend we took Nicki's gown in for alterations. She only had one item on her list that needed to be done, and all I can say is thank goodness!!! I know what they charged us for just that one small thing and I cannot even imagine what other people have to put out!! 

Some of the RSVP's have started to come in!! 

About 70 % of the wedding flowers have been completed. 

There are a few more craft projects in the works!! This is definitely a DIY wedding!! lol

The Bridal Shower is in a few weeks but the majority of those projects were completed last weekend and most of the supplies are at my front door waiting to be moved to the venue. 

This time last year Byron was proposing and in just a few months these two will be walking down the aisle. Like seriously?? Where has the time gone??? 

Although it's been difficult at times ( in part because of finances ) we all agree this has been a God thing from beginning to end because we have been blessed not only from the vendors that have been chosen, but also with the help of family as friends. 

None of this would have been possible without the help of all the people working behind the scenes. I know this day will be extra special because this will be a wedding handmade with love!

This is what we did this weekend!! 

It took her a minute but she got better with practice!! 

Basically I closed the envelopes and she sealed them!! 

All of this done at my sisters place (in between dress fittings) and her sewing on my dress for the wedding! 

I don't know that we've ever been so glad to get an item checked off our list!!! 

As you can see the bride was ecstatic!!! lol!

Since this called for a celebration we endddd our trip with the most expensive sandwich I have ever eaten )not that it want good)!!! 

And still managed to get out of the city before dark and before the rain storms hit!!! 

All and all it was a pretty productive day and for a few lucky folks these puppies should be headed your way in a few days!!!! 

Craft Day

When your daughter tells you she wants mason jars at her shower and wedding what do you do?? You paint mason jars!! Big shout out to my cousin Pat who let us completely destroy her house yesterday!! My poor mom ended up cutting her hand trying to cut out RSVP cards for the wedding invites!! But we finished them and if all goes well they will be in the mail by the weekend!!!
